Professors in retirement
After their retirement professors remain members of the UAS and retain their entitlement to teach and have the right to examine, according to the Thuringian Act concerning universities. They can thus hold lectures and be examiners.
At the UAS Erfurt, a group of retirees who actively work for continuous cooperation with the university has been developed under the leadership of it’s initiator, Professor Dr. Rolf Rüffler. This is of special importance for the UAS in view of financial bottlenecks and demographic developments, nevertheless it represents an enrichment of the teachings.
Other employees are also expressly encouraged to remain with us in active dialogue after their retirement .
