The University of Applied Sciences Erfurt has no central funding for trade fairs. In principle, therefore, faculties must fund all trade fair activities from the resources available to them.
The university administration can however provide central funds on application, sometimes up to the full amount. As a rule, such provision is made if participation in a fair is of importance to the university as a whole. Such importance can be assumed at regular intervals when several universities are exhibiting at a fair and set up a joint stand to save costs. (see Joint stands and Fair calendar).
In the past examples of such fairs were the Hannover fair, CeBIT and baufach in Leipzig (see Fair archive).
Joint stands also present the possibility of a grant from the Thuringia ministry responsible for universities, if the appearance at the fair is organised by the research office.
