- Support in all questions concerning work safety and accident prevention
- Advice/aid in selecting personal protective equipment
- Advice on the design of workplaces, workflow, questions of ergonomics
- Investigation into work accidents
- Regular check patrols and random checking of equipment containing safety-relevant objects (e.g. emergency escape routes)
- Checking that inspection deadlines are maintained for technical equipment and facilities
- Checking first-aid materials in work areas
- Monitoring and implementation of training plan for employees engaged in work areas, health and fire protection (e.g. first-aid workers, security personnel)
- Checking and equipping of deprtments with the necessary placards/documents (first-aid manuals, first-aid logs)
- Annual employee instruction
- Cooperation with medical officer (BAD)
- Involvement/organisation in work safety committee
- Cooperation with public authorities, e.g. Work Protection Agency, Thuringian Accident Registration Office
