JAV - young, active, responsible

The JAV (young person and trainee representative) at UAS Erfurt represents the interests of young persons under 18 and trainees in employment under the age of 25.

JAV responsibilities

• Selection and employment of junior staff
•  Acceptance of suggestions, problems and complaints regarding the workplace and training
•  Monitoring of whether the training is qualified, forward-looking and
   meaningful
•  Monitoring of laws, regulations, wage and services agreements and
   administrative regulations on behalf of the employees
•  Observance of individual interests representation
•  Monitoring of observance by trainees of rights and responsibilities
•  Participation in critical discussions
•  Carrying through of JAV meetings
•  Carrying through of young person and trainee meetings
•  Participation in staff council meetings
•  Taking on after training

As well as general tasks in accordance with Clause 61 ThürPersVG (Thueringen Personnel Act), the JAV can and should take care of almost everything that affects young persons and trainees in the department. The problems that occur are so complex that a conclusive list of all JAV responsibilities would not be possible and has not therefore been made. Election/Tenure

A youth and trainee representative can be elected if a staff council exists and at least 5 eligible voters are employed in the authority.

Eligible to vote are:

• All young employees under the age of 18

Eligible to be voted for are:

• All employees under the age of 25

The regular tenure of the youth and trainee representative is 2 years

Confidentiality

In accordance with Clause 10 Par. 1 ThürPersVG, JAV members must maintain confidentiality on matters that become known to them when exercising their legal duties and powers.
