NaBeWo - Demand-oriented Portfolio Development in the Housing Industry
Project description
Against the background of demographic change and modified housing requirements the competition for tenants on the housing market will further increase. The dialogue between sciences and housing economy in the project is to contribute to innovative approaches for a demand-oriented portfolio policy. The objectives of the project are: developing innovative forms of housing, implementing complementary services, embedding new forms of governance and extending marketing activities to strengthen the competitive advantages of the housing cooperatives (German: Wohnungsbaugenossenschaften). This approach is going to be elaborated with partners of the housing industry in Erfurt and Berlin. The conceptual design is based on analyzing the relevant data of the housing stock at the model locations and looking at innovative and economically remarkable best practices in order to identify need for action and develop compatible solutions. The concepts will be put to the test in the chosen cities and evaluated scientifically.
