Topics
On the ground of the various problems that have already been dealt with, some topics that seem to be especially characteristic for the Transport and Spatial Planning Institute have emerged. Skilled employees of different disciplines work together in research groups on international, national and regional bases. Within these projects, they join analyses of current problems and the observance of long-term development trends within spatial and transport planning. Working on cross-section topics, the Transport and Spatial Planning Institute sets great store by interdisciplinary collaboration as well as the exchange with neighbour faculties and departments.
At the Transport and Spatial Planning Institute, research is usually carried out in form of projects that have been assigned by third parties. In order to bundle its activities and to create a specific profile, the institute structures its research within eight fields of competencies that also define the basic columns of the institute. In here, the scientific topics are treated and in here, new ideas for projects are developed.
