Faculties at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt
The six faculties at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt provide the organisational framework for the variety of courses offered by the university. Within the faculties, prospective students will find a wide range of degree programs in various disciplines.
Faculty of Applied Social Sciences
The Faculty of Applied Social Sciences currently consists of two departments: Social Work and Early Childhood Education.
The essential principles of these fields lie in the tight integration of theory and practice in teaching and research; this is reflected in a solid academic curriculum combined with an interdisciplinary and problem-oriented approach and case-based learning.
Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning
The Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning is still the only faculty of its kind attached to a university of applied sciences in Thuringia. It began teaching when the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt was founded in 1991 and offers degree programs in Urban and Spatial Planning and Architecture.
Faculty of Civil Engineering and Conservation/Restoration
Founded in 2008, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Conservation/Restoration is the youngest faculty at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt. It is home to the departments of Civil Engineering and Conservation and Restoration.
Faculty of Building Services Engineering and Computer Science
The Faculty of Building Services Engineering and Computer Science has existed at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt since 2005. It has its origins in the former Department of Supply Engineering which, from 1991, carried on the training previously by the School of Civil Engineering. Today the faculty is divided into the departments of Applied Computer Science and of Building Services Engineering.
Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Horticulture and Forestry
The Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Horticulture and Forestry has its origins in the former "Christian Reichart" School of Horticulture. Since 2007, it has combined the departments of Landscape Architecture, Horticulture and Forestry, which was previously taught at the Schwarzburg University of Applied Forest Sciences.
Faculty of Business, Logistics and Transport
The Faculty of Business, Logistics and Transport only came into being in the spring of 2008. It is composed of the former faculties of Business Administration and Traffic and Transportation Engineering. The faculty is accordingly divided into the departments of Traffic and Transportation Engineering and Business Administration.
