Mentoring cycle 2016/2017 begins

On 22 October 2016, the second cycle of the mentoring program "STEM Mentoring for University, Job & Career" started at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt. After the official welcome, mentees and mentors had the opportunity to get to know each other personally. In the parallel workshops that followed, both groups found out what the mentoring program involves and what tasks and roles they will have in the following ten months. By the end of the day, the tandems agreed on their first joint meetings.

The Bachelor's students now meet at least every four to six weeks with their respective mentors from small, medium-sized and large companies in Erfurt and the surrounding area. Or they work with a Master's student who acts as a mentor and passes on their academic and specialist knowledge.

The opening event was accompanied by a team from MDR television. The report on the mentoring scheme of the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt was shown in the news program Thüringen Journal.

With the kick-off event on 17 October 2015, the first cycle of the mentoring program "STEM Mentoring for University, Job & Career" started at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt. After a welcoming address, mentees and mentors first had the opportunity to get to know each other in an informal setting. Afterwards, they attended workshops to learn about mentoring, their tasks and roles in the program, and a first meeting of the tandem partners was arranged.

The Bachelor's students now meet at least every four to six weeks with their respective mentor from the field - for example a programmer, a team leader in logistics or a managing director of a civil engineering office - from small, medium-sized and large companies in Erfurt and the surrounding area. Or they work together with a Master's student who acts as a mentor to pass on their academic and specialist knowledge.
