Scientific Laboratory
The department has a laboratory with approx. 150 m² floor space, equipped with modern analysis technology. It was conceived in accordance with the teaching goal of training students in all scientific sub-disciplines of restoration as thoroughly as possible.

- Characterization of historical and modern materials

- Damage investigation
- Climate analysis
- special photographic processes (UV-fluorescence reflectography, infrared reflectography)
In addition to its main task as a training facility for students in the natural sciences, the laboratory is also a research and service facility within the discipline and the university, as well as a partner to the historic offices, restoration associations, museum and church institutions, freelance restorers, etc.
