European Meet & Match: FH Erfurt connects with cities from the Northern Netherlands

On 6 October 2026, FH Erfurt hosted “Strategic European Partnerships and Exchange – Meet & Match”, bringing together representatives of the Cities Northern Netherlands with researchers and stakeholders from across Thuringia.

Delegates from Emmen, Assen, Groningen and Leeuwarden shared key insights into and experience with European projects, outlined pressing challenges in urban transformation, and highlighted strategic priority areas for future cross-border collaboration.

Designed as an open platform for dialogue, the event fostered dynamic exchanges among participants. Following the Dutch delegation’s input, FH Erfurt professors provided thematic research impulses while regional stakeholders from Erfurt, Jena, Suhl, and Nordhausen pitched concrete collaboration ideas. Representatives from the Thuringian Ministry for Environment, Energy, Nature Conservation and Forestry and other state institutions complemented these with strategic policy insights.

A networking coffee session concluded the event, providing participants with dedicated space to deepen conversations, identify shared interests, explore joint research opportunities, and discuss potential avenues for European cooperation.

The event was hosted by FH Erfurt (Service Research and Transfer / EU-Desk) in cooperation with the Thuringian State Chancellery (Thuringian Representation to the European Union – TVLEU) and the European Information Centre (EIZ).
