MathWorks MATLAB Licence for FH Erfurt

The licence agreement with MathWorks allows MATLAB and all toolboxes to be used for teaching and non-commercial research on all computers at the FHE and includes home use rights for all staff and students. Use on university devices continues to run on the university's licence server. Using the licence on private devices requires you to register on the MathWorks portal of our university.

MathWorks MATLAB provides its users with both an intuitive programming language and an interactive programming environment for modelling mathematical algorithms, analysing and graphically representing data, and performing numerical calculations. Due to its graphical interface, Simulink allows complex dynamic systems to be modelled and simulated. In addition, students can use the licence to access over 100 other customized MathWorks software solutions for data analysis, image processing or artificial intelligence work.

  • The campus-wide licence allows unlimited use of MATLAB and Simulink products on any device for all faculty, staff, researchers and students on and off campus.

With a campus-wide licence lecturers have access to MathWorks teaching materials that support curricula and help students solve project-based assignments. Furthermore, it means students are working with the same programming language in all courses, which makes it easier for them to achieve their learning objectives.

Researchers with a campus-wide licence have access to the latest versions of MATLAB and Simulink products that are available for academic use. You can collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines and at hundreds of research institutions worldwide.

With a campus-wide licence, students have access to the same tools that engineers and academics use. They acquire the programming and computational mathematics skills they need for promising careers in fields such as IoT, deep learning, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, robotics, neuroscience and finance, or to start up their own businesses.

  • Please note: In order to use the software, you need to register here.

Download for students and employees of the university

    • All members of the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt are permitted to install a copy of the software on a personal device and to use it for teaching and non-commercial research in accordance with the licence agreements. Almost all toolboxes can be used for this purpose.

End users can download and activate the software via the university's MATLAB portal. The Quick Start Guide describes in detail how to install the software.
