Research Facilities / Institutes
In order to develop research priorities and interdisciplinary cooperation, a total of seven institutes have been established in four faculties at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt, and one faculty has set up its own research centre.

Affiliated Institutes
Under Section 127 of the Thuringian Higher Education Act (ThürHG) of 10 May 2018, a legally independent research institution may be recognized as an "institute at the higher education institution" (affiliated institute) for a limited period of time. In accordance with § 127 ThürHG, the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt currently recognizes the "Institut für kommunale Planung und Entwicklung e.V." as an affiliated institute.
