General information about Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise

Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise is a collection of online services and the classic Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Headed by the computer centre at TU Ilmenau as the university IT centre for Thuringian universities, all of the universities in Thuringia have signed up to the new "Microsoft Campus and School Subscription Agreement" between the Leibniz Computer Centre at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities and Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited.

Microsoft regards this nationwide agreement 3.0 (Microsoft 365, Office 365, Enterprise Mobility + Security, and Windows 10 Subscriptions for Education, Plan A3) as a hybrid contract for the transition to the cloud. For users of Microsoft products, this means that licences are issued to specific individuals. This requires users to log in to the Microsoft client of the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt.

According to § 21 (1) of the Thuringian Higher Education Act (ThürHG), employees and students of the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt are entitled to a licence.

The software and services included may only be used for study-related or work-related matters or in student or work-related projects. The licence conditions do not provide for commercial or private use. Only personal, non-transferable licences are available. For further information, please refer to the privacy policy and terms of use.

  • Availability and Registration

In future, all computers at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt will use "Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise". The transition will take place in several stages, and you will receive further information from your departmental administrator.

Your work Microsoft account will be created automatically. You will find more details on your right to object in the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

On Windows devices that are managed centrally, the "Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise" will be automatically installed and activated. In all other cases, you will be asked to sign in with your Microsoft account before you can proceed. Login with your university email address and the password of your university account.

If you use "Visio" or "Project" in addition to "Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise", you will need the latest version of these programs.
