Course structure and lectures
Course Structure
In Europe, the Bachelor's is the first degree which university students can attain upon completion of their academic studies. It was introduced as part of the Bologna process, whose goal was the standardization of the European degrees. It can be followed by a more in-depth Master's degree program.
Foreign students generally need to study for a little longer than German students.
Lectures
We differentiate between lectures, tutorials and seminars.
In lectures, the lecturer explains the theory behind a certain topic. These theories can then be discussed in smaller groups in the seminars. In tutorials, the theoretical material taught in the lectures is developed through practical tasks.

Courses for Refugees
The University of Applied Sciences Erfurt offers refugees the opportunity to attend lectures so that they can gain an impression and some initial experience of studying at a German university. If you are interested, we encourage you to get in touch with current students, and/or to attend a language course. You can find more detailed information here.
