International Projects
A foreign country, a different culture, a strange language – it’s not always easy when you arrive in a new place. To help you settle in at the university and in Erfurt, there are several projects aimed specifically at international students that provide advice and support - and also happen to be great fun!
Integration projects
These projects aim to help international students to settle in at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt and in the city of Erfurt.
-
This project, run by Thuringian Student Services, arranges weekly meetings for international students from the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt and the University of Erfurt. The program includes themed evenings on the students' home countries, discussion groups and a variety of cultural events.
-
International students visit schools in Erfurt to talk about their home countries, broaden the pupils’ horizons and promote intercultural education.
-
Residents of Erfurt are partnered with international students, and joint events strengthen the international network in our state capital.
-
One evening a month, Erfurt locals meet up with international residents for relaxed conversation in a café.
-
Funded by the DAAD, the Language Café has been running since autumn 2015 with the aim of helping refugees integrate into university life.
-
Since 2016, the DAAD has been funding a B2 language course for refugees. This is part of the Welcome Project, which - similar to the Language Café - aims to integrate refugees into university life and beyond.
Summer Schools
-
Our popular International Erfurt Summer School has been taking place during the semester break since 2005. For 2 weeks, students from all continents come to Erfurt to study together at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt, exchange ideas and expertise, but also get to know the country and its people.
-
The first International Exchange Camp will take place in the summer of 2022. There will be an exciting interdisciplinary program covering a wide range of topics and a number of intercultural events and activities.
-
This summer school brings together students from different countries and, in addition to having fun designing, talking and building, also serves to promote mutual understanding and build networks among young, budding architects.
